Ride to Yosemite

This past weekend we had the privilege of tagging along with many bikers in the Bay Area on a long scenic route to Yosemite National Park nestled in the Sierra Nevada. While the ride was beautiful and the comradery was unmatched, this convoy was set on a mission; to raise money and awareness for the Blue Waves Mongolia Campaign, which was launched by the Lake Hovsgol Conservancy and the Mongol Ecology Center.

Blue Waves is part of a larger effort to celebrate and raise awareness of the global significance of Lake Hovsgol National Park.  The initiative is to rally a worldwide audience, support, fully equip and train the park rangers who are working to preserve the park. The Ride to Yosemite was one small part of that benefit to help purchase all-terrain motorbikes for the Lake Hovsgol National Park rangers to patrol the area. Currently they rely on walking and riding white reindeer to protect the land from poachers and night miners.

We were happy to join up the convoy from San Francisco and take the 4+ hour journey to Yosemite and the Yosemite Bug Resort, where we ate laughed and parited all night with drinks, music and typical biker conversation. We got to see the breathtaking-sights and make some long-lasting friendships, and best of all, they loved CurbNinja!
